Innovations are not absolutely necessary to position a yacht clearly and well.

The smallest of the Grand' Large series shows what is possible by optimising the use of space. For around 94,000 euros, it offers quality, but above all a boat that offers good living conditions even for six people without being an imposition visually.

At Dufour, the customer can choose between two boat characters. The so-called Performance line, recognisable by the two-digit type designations (Dufour 34, 40, 44), is aimed at the sportily ambitious and is optimised for good sailing performance at the expense of space. Consequently, the Dufour 40 and 34 have won high-ranking regattas.

The other product line is labelled GrandLarge and has three-digit type numbers. The target group: In addition to owners for whom living space is more important than regatta trophies, the line is also intended to satisfy charter customers. The largest model is currently the 455, followed by the smaller models 385, 365 and the 325, which was tested as a prototype.

Conclusion of the test: Plenty of space for up to six people, appealing lines, slimmed-down but adequate fittings and good light winch properties.
